^^ ( i know this not a good resource but it had alot of information on this topic )
This is a public school located in East Knoxville, Tennessee. A school with many talented kids that is misunderstood because of their location, it is really a great school.
Austin East is the successor to two former racially segregated Schools. Was the first black High school in Knoxville.
It is now a Performing Arts School so how it helps the community. Meaning, the community comes together for the performances or sports events as a whole with out being violent or non-human beings. The community feels that the Performing Arts helps us kids out in the long run and also during and after school. Vine Middle Magnet School ( former Austin High location ) and Austin East Magnet High School both are basically the only two performing arts schools in Knox County.
