This chapter highlights the crucial importance of tiktok in today's tourism. If it's used properly, it can help places with little tourism to develop. Unfortunately, the article also exposes the negative roles of tiktok, such as overtourism and disrespect for tourist sites. This is illustrated by the case study of Hainan Island.

Chapter 5 learned me that some small rural cities or regions have a tendance to use social medias to reach a younger target for their tourism. It gave an example of some influencers who promote some cities in Dordogne working directly with the tourism office of th city. But it also said why they are targeting on social media : because the new generation (gen Z) is "always active" on internet.

This is very interesting because that talks about the fact that the company succeeded to use very well instagram to catch attention of the prospects, wether it is photos, videos. But that needs a big work behind because nothing is do randomly, the colors, the POV, the place. Furtherly the article talk about how the glamping use this on the gen z, and the succeess they catched during 2021.

This chapter examines how social media influence sustainable tourism choices among young French travelers. Despite young people's growing interest in eco-friendly tourism, challenges remain, including concerns about cost and convenience. A quantitative survey reveals that although the majority of young people use social media to plan their trips, only 37% actively seek out sustainable tourism options due to these barriers. In conclusion, further efforts are needed to raise awareness and educate young people about sustainable tourism and I found that really interesting

It's the biggest magazine to promoto the tourism and hospitality and even catering around the world. 42% of the customers make some reasearch on the social media to prepare thei trips. The advantages are that everything is accessible for everyone and that make things easier when you need images.

In this chapter, I learned about the substantial impact of social media platforms like Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok on our travel choices, especially among millennials and Generation Z. To enhance the chapter, incorporating concrete examples would have made the theoretical concepts more tangible. A more global perspective, beyond Savignac School students, would have enriched the analysis by showcasing how different cultures and age groups are variably influenced by social media. Exploring future trends could have provided a more comprehensive view. Despite these potential improvements, the chapter effectively outlined the intricate relationship between social media and travel, paving the way for intriguing future studies.

Brand deals are less and less common as people tend to be more septical about what influencers post. It started in 2010 and now, it is one of the main social media uses nowadays. Its concept is to share pictures, and some of them are focused on traveling. Knowing instagram has a big influence, sharing pictures of beautiful places make people attracted, so these places became a tourist attraction. The influence has a big impact on the algorithm on users. The more an influencer has an audience and notoriety, the more people will follow his content.

The chapter that I read was the chapter 13. It is about the influence of the social media on where the Gen Z go travel.

I learn due to the social media and the influencers traveling was no longer, for the generation Z, about discovering and living an unforgatable experience but about taking pictures of beautiful and famous places to share them on social media to say to their community/ followers "look I went there too".

Even if some positive aspect can come ot of this new way of traveling, some serious negativ es aspect that we cannot ignore are affected by this influence that turn upside down all the codes and habits of traveling.

I chose chapter 17.

«Instagram effect» where users on social media platforms post and share only content that shows a perfect, dreamy and aesthetically pleasing life. This can create a distorted view of reality, as people only see the facts of other people’s lives and not the backstage or struggles behind them. Our generation (Z) lives with the phone in hand and disconnects a lot from reality. Posts on social networks are very misleading because there is a lot of trick, fake, many images are created by robots.

Social networks hide becooup and you have to know how to distinvuer the real from the fake and make your own opinion and not take everything to the letter.

But there are also many positive points. The network makes us discover many things, different cultures, countries. Social networks are a very good economic means when you want to talk about something.

I chose the chapter 10 on discord because i think is one of the most pertinant. Post-Covid : Opening to a Wider Audience During the 2020 lockdown, Discord experienced a surge in popularity, becoming the most downloaded application. Its adaptability led to its use in education and telecommuting. The accessibility and features of the platform make it suitable for various purposes, expanding its user base beyond gamers.

Generation Z – Seeking Communities Generation Z, in search of authenticity and truth, finds Discord appealing due to its community-centric approach without intrusive advertising. With the rise of social commerce, brands are increasingly using social media to establish connections. Discord, focused on the community, aligns with Generation Z's preference for authentic engagement.

Current Features of Discord and Tourism in Video Games Approximately 70% of Discord users engage for gaming. Discord serves as an ideal space for gaming-induced tourism, where users create servers to discuss topics related to games. Influencers also leverage Discord to establish a more personal connection with their communities.
