The story takes place at Beccher Prep Middle School and at Auggie's house. The main character Auggie has a problem in the story. Auggie does not want to go to school because of he has a face deformity. Later on in nthe story Auggie's best friend Jack makes fun of him behind his back. Then the antagonist Julian calls Auggie a freak and Jack punches him. The turning point in the story is when Auggie gets separated from his friend and is confronted by kids from another school, that's when Auggie stands up for himself. When Amos rams into the leader of the other school and stands up for Auggie, this is proof that they are true friends. Before the end of the story, people started to talk to Auggie when they didn't before and no one is trying to stay away from him.
