This descriptive essay really spoke to me. What I can interpret from it, is that a heart is as fragile as glass. In the beginning it's perfect, and without scars. As you grow, you deal with breakage and repair. Each time you repair it, you try to do it better. you try to make it stronger than before, and to protect it from breaking again. The truth is, no matter how many times you glue glass back together, it's still just fragile glass.

This descriptive essay served as a reminder to me, that we take everyday things for granted. If we would just stop and take it all in, there is so much in the world everyday that goes unappreciated. If we lost our sight, or hearing, we would miss the everyday things. Appreciate them while you have them, and open your heart to caring more. Not just for objects, but for people as well.

I, thoroughly, enjoyed reading this narrative. Again, it is a narrative that I could connect with. The fear and despair that the author describes after taking the pregnancy test is all too familiar to me. I discovered I was pregnant at a very inopportune time in my life as well. The fact that she chooses shoulder angels to describe the different emotions is humorous. Sometime's , life hits you when it wants to, and that's not always going to be when you're ready.

I liked this essay because it really puts into perspective how many people come out of the woodwork when you succeed. Especially in a small town. When you leave a small town and make a name for yourself, suddenly, all the people who didn't pay much attention before, know you so well. I gather, from the way the writer concluded the essay, that she may have actually enjoyed it a little.

I once read that the reason millennials (The Peter Pan generation) are so nostalgic is because we were the last generation to live in a time when technology wasn't such a vital part of society. That the reason why members of the millennial generation are so sentimental about childhood is that the simplicity of life before the emergence of technology disappeared so quickly while still growing up. The generation before us was almost zero technology, the generation after will be all technology, and we are sitting here torn between loving the convenience of technology as it is today, but also missing the simplicity of childhood. I'm not sure why, but this essay made me think of this.

I enjoy reading about how crazy the English language is. I'm glad I'm not the only one who notices these strange things about the language we use. MY problem, however is that I start to overthink English from time to time and I end up convincing myself that something is right or wrong that isn't. :)
