Dear Ian and Barb, thank you for who you are to us. We still remember that evening in the bistro, getting to know each other over frozen margaritas -- it's a bit of a picture of who you are: fun, loving, big-hearted and generous. We are so thankful for your friendship and love your family. Malaysia has been blessed to have you for this long, and the best is still to come with the next chapter!

We can’t thank you enough for all that you’ve done and the legacy that you leave will be immense and long lasting. Your leadership and impact in HTBB, Alpha and Oasis has been huge. We are so sad that you’re leaving and will miss you greatly, but we’re excited about this next chapter for you and are praying for your transition back to Canada and for fruitfulness. It’s been a great privilege knowing and being in fellowship with the both of you over the last year or so.

And especially working with you @Ian on our many projects. You have been a great friend, inspiration and mentor. Keep driving hard! And may the Beard grow bigger as you grow wiser.

Barb & Ian,

It's still so surreal to think that your chapter in Asia is about to come to close for this season. (Note the key words in this sentence... ;D) We are both genuinely so excited for all God has planned for you in this next season back home in Canada, yet at the same time sincerely sad to be losing two dear friends who are very much like family to us here in KL.

You both constantly energize us with your passion for life; encourage us through how you both time & time again faithfully run to God first in your decision making; and inspire us to be all that God calls us to through the generous, compassionate and kind way in which you are always so fully present in loving and journeying with a diversity of people. More than just words, we hope this serves as a reminder of who God has moulded you both to be for this next leg of the journey.

You will be GREATLY missed, but the best is still ahead! Looking forward to chatting over some poutines and Timmies soon, eh?

Dear Angells,

When I heard that I was going to be going to Malaysia, knowing that I was going to stay with the Angells brought me such comfort and just as I had prayed for, you all were the greatest support to me during my initial months in KL and all throughout my time there. I am forever grateful for how you welcomed me into your home and your family, cried with me, laughed with me and always made sure that I ate well (forever missing Elda’s cooking!). I’ve always been inspired by your ministry and know that you have impacted many lives and will continue to do so in Canada. So excited for your next adventure and for you to be reunited with the rest of the Angells after so long apart. I'm just so grateful that I was placed in my first Alpha group with the both of you. There was so much warmth and laughter, and very pointed comments that inspired and changed my way of thinking.

Thank you for the time we spend together especially sowing so much into my life from business to things of god and life as an overall. I pray many will be blessed from your ministry and love for others.

When Mike told me about "Ian Angell" and his MBA class, I wasn't really sure what to expect...but I'm forever greatly thankful for this friendship that has blossomed in such beautiful ways. Thank you for believing in me, for the way you welcomed me for that yummilicious Christmas dinner, for the way you guys listen and inspire me.

Ian and Barb, gosh where to start from frozen margaritas, filming music videos, school jazz night, Tuesday Prosecco, building a studio together, flute buddies and kampung furniture shopping - we are so grateful for your friendship, generosity and fun.

We were saying that FUN is a huge mark of your family, something you instilled in your children! Genuinely if an Angell is around you're going to have fun. You both model so much generosity in your time and through hospitality. There's always a feast in your home and it's full of people.

Thank you for all the love and care you've shown us over the years. Thank you for letting your daughters keep us on track with what is cool and serve together in church.

Praying for the next adventure in Canada, you guys are the best.

Dear Barb and Ian,

I will miss both of you so so much. It feels weird saying this – while I’ve only just started getting to know you guys, meeting the both of you has been such a breath of fresh air. Real, fun, funny, kind, generous – over spilling with love, grace, laughter and joy – our short time spent together has been so energizing. Thank you for role modelling His love so well, and for constantly making the effort to hold space, reach out and check in.

Not too long ago I read a quote that said – be somebody who makes everybody feel like a somebody – and I think the both of you embody that so well! 😊

I’ll miss our Crokinole sessions, coffee chats and hang outs at your place. Barb – you’ll always be my favorite Crokinole partner. No one can replace that <3 While I’m so so sad that the both of you are leaving, Canada is so lucky to have you guys back!

Dearest Barb and Ian,
In the most British way possible, let's just pause a moment. Are we absolutely sure Canada is better than Malaysia? I mean with the abundance of fibre optic cables, Ian could surely do the role from here. We need only buy some virtual reality equipment and the students wouldn't know the difference.

Banter aside, I pray come Holy Spirit and fill Barb and Ian. Bless their feet Lord as they walk a new path on a new adventure.

Thank you for the kindness, generosity and brief fellowship. Hope to spend more time with you both one day soon in Canada.
