(NN) In this article, they talk about how the knowledge we gain about love and relationships and the experiences we have as teenagers can affect our relationships as adults. They explained that there were five types of teenage daters from low-risk to high-risk relationships depending on their dating behaviors. This source relates to the book Romeo and Juliet because they not only fall in love at a young age but they also get married very soon after which tells us their dating behavior. Using the descriptions of teenage daters from the article, we can see that they are at level 3/4 as they make rash dating decisions, which is more on the high-risk side.

(NN) In this article, they explain what gender roles are and how they can affect romantic relationships. They talk about how gender roles can negatively affect both genders in a relationship as they push people to fit in a specific box, and it can also cause violence or can decrease how women value themselves. This source relates to Romeo and Juliet because they portray negative gender roles since they think that they can't date a girl because she wants to stay celibate and not have kids. They look at women as just people to have kids and that can affect how they think about themselves.

(RA) This article addresses adolescents romantic relationships and discusses their validity. Select scientists are finding that adolescent relationships and break-ups affect the involved peoples behavior, mental health, etc. This is relevant to Romeo and Juliet because we know their relationship later ends up taking a toll, as they commit suicide. However, we also see this earlier, when Juliet is in distress because Romeo murdered her cousin.

(RA) This article talks about a scientific study conducted to find out whether teenagers will prioritize their parents or friends. According to the heads of the study, in most cases, teenagers ended up prioritizing their parents. However, this varied based off whether they had a good relationship. This relates to Romeo and Juliet because Juliet seems to be in the minority—she prioritizes Romeo over family, knowing their families are rivals, even after he kills Tybalt.

(RA) While this article talks about gender roles overall in a relationship, there was an emphasis regarding the expectations during sex. The article highlights how men often hold their standards for sex and pleasure very high, while women are demeaned for wanting sex, or, not wanting it. This relates to Romeo and Juliet because in one of the acts, Romeo talks about his crush as though she is a ‘waste’—simply because she wants to stay a virgin. His main focus is on the sexual aspect of their relationship.

(NN) In this article, they talk about how teenage behaviors can change when they go through puberty and their relationships change with different people in their life. They explain how teenagers may start being more independent from their parents and they spend more time with their friends. This relates to the book Romeo and Juliet because when they meet and fall in love, they talk a lot about how they will leave their family name behind just to be together. This shows that their loyalty to their family is less than their relationship with each other.

(AI) The article talks about the risks that can exist with young love and how this love can affect adolescents later on in terms of educational experiences. It relates to Romeo and Juliet because they both have a lot of risks because their families do not like each other, as they are rivals. We also see these risks when Juliet wants to seek Romeo, even though he has been banished for killing Tybalt and is in hiding. This could potentially get her in lots of trouble, so it is a risk.
