Monkess The Homunculus

Seth T. Hahne

Monkess was all alone until she met her best friend Puffin. Monkess shows children how to treat their friends. I would use this book to demonstrate how to respect and treat each other. Seth T. Hahne used very descriptive words that accompanied his illustrations. I can use this book to show children how descriptive words can help put a picture in our minds.

Jeffrey Brown

This book shows Darth Vader raising Princess Leia through being a little girl through teenage and adolescent years. It shows how much parents care for their children. Darth Vader was always busy but had time for Princess Leia. Star Wars is a timeless series that will grab the attention of some of my students.

J.Torres And Sean Dove

This is a book that my 14 and 8 boy cousins would love. It is very high energy and action pack. I would use this book when we are talking about punctuation and the BR consanent blend. This book shows a great example of team work. The story line shows proof that much more can be done as a team then by yourself.

Cori Doerrfeld and Tyler Page

This is a very relatable and diverse book. It’s multi cultural. The story line changes from English to Spanish but not so much to where you lose the meaning of the book if you did not know Spanish. Children whose parents are divorced can relate to this book. The story had so many moral lessons. You have the power to change how you view things not how other people are. Everything is not what it seems and if you keep an open mind then you might gain understanding.

John Lechner

I like this graphic novel and will have to have it in my class library. Sticky Burr is different from the other Burrs in his village because he likes to do different things. The other Burrs made him feel like he did not belong in their village. Although Sticky Burr was thought as the , In the end of the book Sticky Burr saves the whole village. I would use this book to teach kids consonant blends -ST and also to teach kids that everyone is different and everyone shines at something.
