The majority of MOOCs that I have taken are automated and end with multiple choice quizzes without much opportunity for students to be creative, or express their thinking. Gamification entices users and incentivizes the process of the learning, but it also provides an opportunity to incorporate critical thinking into MOOCs. Critical thinking and gamification usually go hand in hand, so if MOOCs can create a gamified learning environment that forces the user to use critical thinking skills, I think they will see continued success in the educational landscape.

I would like to receive a certificate that has the same recognition as a university course.  Sometime I can not complete some MOOCs due to the time it takes. Although I do appreciate the learning process - it would be nice to receive a certification as an incentive to completing MOOCs.

Completing gamified learning with apps like Android's Grasshopper can be a demonstrable stepping stone to achieving industry-standard skills acquisition that can be shown to employers as verified learning. Traditional forms of education are fine, but faster skills acquisition is possible, affordable, mobile, and verifiable.
