         <description><![CDATA[<div>Down syndrome is a chromosomal condition that is associated with intellectual disability, a characteristic facial appearance, and weak muscle tone in infancy.Individuals with Down syndrome have an increased risk of developing several medical conditions like gastroesophageal reflux,thyroid gland,leukemia,and hearing and vision problems.Children with down syndrome are reported to have delayed development behavior problems.Also adults with down syndrome have an increased risk of developing Alzheimer's disease which causes memory loss but mostly it develops when the adults are  in their fifties and sixties.</div>]]></description>

Rarely this happens when down syndrome occurs when a part of chromosome 2 comes together as one chromosome during the formation of the cells.
