'At Christmas time it's hard but while you're having fun. There's a world outside your window and it's a world of dread and fear.  I believe that the Christmas spirit is not about the joy of receiving presents but about giving to those that need it more than us. I am very conscious of the fact that im more priviledged than many other families and individuals and believe that at christmas time we should think of those who have experienced hardships and may not even 'know it's christmas time at all.'

This can be seen throughout the novel; The Mortal Instruments.
I believe Clary reflects my beliefs and values when she stands up for those who have been exposed to racism and to those that have been oppressed by shadowhunters; a superior race. I object to the subjugation of minority groups and who are oppressed as a result of societal norms. This is seen when Neville stands up to his friends in order to do what he believes is right. I believe that Neville reflects my attitudes, beliefs and values as he doesn't change himself or his morals in order to fit in with his friends or society.
