Embraced by optimists as a powerful soft skill to solve problems, maintain the sense of security and ultimately reach the mental well-being, positive thinking, on the other hand, are deemed detrimental by many risk managers regarding the potential failure resulting from being over-optimistic. Although I concede with the benefits of positivity, I firmly believe that taking serious precautions in daily situations is indispensable and I chime with the latter opinion.
Essentially, positive thinking gives a sense of security for people allowing them to focus on the tasks at hand. It is shown that working with less worries and fears enhances productivity, generates breakthrough ideas and even reach the mindfulness status. Additionally, positive thinkers, with higher amount of dopamine hormone, often find themselves at a state of happiness and mental well-being. For example, a co-worker with positive energy can alleviate the complications in business and eventually solve problems leading to a fruitful outcome for the corporate. Without this soft skill, some people might encounter dead ends in all situations and more severely, fall into depression.
Aside from the value, over optimism bears some disadvantages when people confront unexpected happenings. Overconfidence can be a distinct illustration of this. Taking students' preparation for exams as an example, supporters of optimism might pat themselves with bright pinky scenario of passing the exam after thoroughly learning their lessons. However, there any many catches to it namely physical health issues, accidents or simply a traffic congestion, which they didn't have any back-up plan for due to their overconfidence, preventing their desired outcome. Moreover, despite having drawn up multiple plans for unforeseeable events, we can be never in full control of outside variables affecting our plans, which can be seen obviously in a relationship.

It is now no longer uncommon to see humans thinking more positive as they have earned a safer life in the past. While this trend poses certain hazards, there are an inordinate number of benefits attached to it. With this in mind, I strongly believe the later outweighs the former and I will justify my reasons in the following essay.
To start with, positive thinking allows thinkers to achieve the state of well-being. It is well-proven that positivity boosts the amount of dopamine in a human's body and thus allows humans to have a clear mind to handle work properly. In addition, positive thinking paves the way for problem solvers. Positive thinkers can visualize a big picture which is beneficial to a future in the long run.
However, there is a notable drawback which is positive thinkers are frequently subjective to potential pitfalls such as overlooked materials prior to exams or interviews. As they are positive about their upcoming situations, they tend to pay less attention to the details or risks that are attached to certain affairs, resulting in an imminent downfall. Nonethesless, this demerit can be alleviated and avoided with proper planning and backup plans, both can be done easily if the thinker is more cautious.
In short, positive thinking does lead to certain hazards but with appropriate guidance, I believe the setback can be reduced. With that and the disadvantage in mind, positive should be further encouraged in the near future.

With an increase in the rate of crime, it is a highly debatable issue whether to have more police on the streets in order to refrain it from rising or not. Although I concede that having a large number of police may partly reduce crime, there present some downsides as to finance and social issue that needs much heed.

Irrefutably, having more police may bring citizens various benefits. The most prominent upside of this is that the society is regulated more effectively. It stands to reason that people will, in all likelihood, conform to the law if there are police around them. Furthermore, the presence of policemen may act as a deterrent prospective crimes. With an array of police on the streets, it may be such a formidable barrier for culprits to commit wrongdoings.

Be that as it may, I would argue that this idea may have some downsides. To begin with, the government has to pay a large amount of money for police which will put a strain on governmental subsidy.

Never has it been easier for the government to reduce the crime rates than it is today. While many are of the opinion that the best way to curb increasing crime rates is to employ more police on streets, others counter that this approach is ineffective. I strongly agree with the latter viewpoint on the grounds that it both increases the paycheck and overlooks genuine economic and social drivers towards crime.
On one side of the argument, many believe that having more police patrols can act as a deterrent prospective crimes. In fact, the presence of them can hamper the criminal intention due to the fear of getting arrest. Moreover, more police governing the street means our society is being heavily regulated. Telling example for this can be found in Singapore which is one of the safest countries in the world. By the allocation of stricter security, the crime rates tend to decrease because the streets are twenty four hours under the surveillance.
