  • Major threats to loggerhead seat turtles includes fisheries. Fisheries often capture fish that are in close vicinity to these turtles so even though they do not mean to catch the turtles, they are accidentally captured. 
  • Plastic pollution has also had an impact on these turtles. All plastic has a negative effect on these animals, but especially plastic bags because they closely resemble jellyfish which are apart of the loggerhead's diet.

  • I believe that in order to save the loggerhead turtle from extinction it is vital for us to do our part. We can help by reducing single-use plastic and replacing it with eco-friendly alternatives. 
  • We can also help by signing petitions to raise awareness in the hopes of trying to get fisheries to move to different locations that won't negatively impact the loggerhead sea turtle.
