There are 5 fields of an MLA Citation that you should memorize because they are the most common for website citations: 
  1. Author. - Lastname, Firstname. 
  2. Title of article. - The title should be in "quotes." 
  3. Title of website, -The container should be in Italics.
  4. Date posted, - This is usually the date the work was first published online. This is NOT the date you access the work. 
  5. Location. - For a website, this is the URL (web address). 

NOTE: If the website has a parent company, you would include that after the title of the website and consider it a publisher.

In Middle School, it is just important that you know IMAGES NEED TO BE CITED. Also, GOOGLE IS NOT THE SOURCE. You must visit the actual site the image comes from. Use this basic formula: 
  1. Image creator’s name (if provided)
  2. Title of the digital image. If the image has no title, then provide a description of the image.
  3. Title of the webPAGE or article that the image was found on, in quotation marks. IF this has an author different from the image, add it here.
  4. Title of the webSITE the image was found on, in italics
  5. Date published online (if provided)
  6. URL (web address)
