1) Two benefits of capital punishments are that it gives the victim’s families closure and discourages repeated criminal offences. The two cons however, are that some may be wrongfully executed and to the public, there is a question of morality.
2) The benefits of putting money in banks are earning the compound interest, it is now easy to invest through the banks and banks keep our money safe.
3)Some of the ways to reducing waste in the environment are being conscious of ‘Reduce, Reuse and Recycle’, educate ourselves about the environment and being intentional about our buying.
4) The possible impacts of divorce in the child are that the child’s mental health is negatively affected, relationship between child-parent is strained and there might be long-lasting physiological impact on the child.

How do I feel about my first grade for English (150 words) ?
I feel like I could have done better because I would consider English as my best subject, so think I should and could have done better. (26) I am not very satisfied with my grade, but then again, I kind of expected this grade because I know that I did not do as well as during practices. (56) I was expecting a pass, while I was hoping to get at least a 18 but surprisingly I got a 20 which I was quite pleased at before I realised that it was B3.. (90) Teacher wrote in my paper that I could have develop my examples and I agree because my examples were quite short, partially because I forgot how to write examples and partially because I did not have enough time. (128) I also had a few spelling mistakes which were careless, so I could have improved on that too. (146) I will try my best and do better next time. (156) During the EOY, I want to get an A2 at least. (167)

1 thing I did that I liked.

On Monday and Tuesday, I stayed at home and got a lot of sleep and ate a lot of food that I liked through delivery, I went on a movie marathon and managed to finish 5 movies.

On Wednesday, I went to Plaza Singapura and bought many k-pop merch/stuff. I got an Enhypen album, not expecting to get anything good but I got my bias-jungwon and my bias wrecker-sunghoon :D. I also bought 4 photo cards on carousell which I think is such a steal because they were probably worth $10-$20 each but I got all 4 for $22(including mailing). I also got some more albums - the engine version ones. I was hoping for Jungwon, but I got sunoo and Niki(I had a repeat so I sold one on carousell so that I can buy another one). I also bought 4 more photocards from Kerise which I have been wanting for very long.

On Thursday, I went out with my friends: Adelyn, Jenson, Chengxi and Youhong. We went to an indoor playground and the experience was quite fun. We played hide-and-seek, catching, played some talking games and we also ate lunch together.

On Friday, I went to a check-up and the hospital and then proceeded to Suntec City with my father where I bought more k-pop stuff and some anime stuff.

On Saturday, I went to my grandmother’s house and met my cousins. We played a lot of video games together and hung out as we have not seen each other for very long.

On Sunday, my mother came back from Japan with a lot of things/souvenirs for me and my sister.

Would you be keen to pick up an extreme sport? Why or why not?

I would not be keen to pick up an extreme sport as I think that these kinds of sports are very dangerous and most of them can lead to serious injuries like broken limbs and in extreme cases, death. Base jumping is an example of the many extreme sports adventurers like. Base jumping is the recreational sport of jumping from fixed objects and using a parachute to descend safely to the ground. While this sport may look fun and exciting, the death rate of this sport would definitely make you rethink your decision. Statistics show that approximately one in every sixty participants die from base jumping annually. In total, 328 people died while participating in base jumping, between 1981-2016. Actually, I have a friend I know that used to participate in parkour and he was actually quite professional. However, in one of his friendly competitions, he fell and fractured his leg and his arm was extremely injured, it left a huge scar on his hand even after recovery. I understand why some people might be keen to try extreme sports but it is definitely not for me. I do not want to risk dying just for the experience of an adrenaline rush. No offence but in my opinion, people who engage in extreme sports are just irresponsible risk-takers with a death wish. I would recommend those who want to experience adrenaline rushes to experience them through the rides in theme parks as it is not as risky compared to extreme sports like base jumping.

Resilience in Crisis Reflection

(a) The first story about how a youth volunteer delivered 500 meals to families in need during the circuit breaker. It really inspired me to do better and help myself and others around me. I like how she could have taken her own break and not go all out and help those families in need. Maybe she was also in their situation once? Either way I think she has shown a lot of resilience considering the amount of effort she put in to make sure these meals are delivered safely to the families in need. Despite being a petit individual and getting very tired after carrying all the bags around each neighbourhood, she mentioned in the article that she did not give up cause she knows that it was worth it. I hope she gets her own good karma!

(b) I have shown resilience in many different times as I believe that resilience and determination is the key to success. One time where I remember really clearly is when I was running my 2.4km run during PE for my Napha test. I'm not a very good runner and I have low stamina so it was really hard for me to even run one round around the canal. However, I didn't give up and kept going because I really wanted to pass the test. (I didn't pass in the end :). Another time was when it was nearing the end-of-year exams and I was studying for my maths and science exams. My brain was so tired but I didn't give up cause I knew that this exam was the most important one of the year and that I could rest after the exams. (I didnt pass :). In conclusion, resilience is not always the key to success. :(
