what went well:
- we did not slow down during the piece
- we manage to play the Bb, F and D major scales mostly well with the right accidentals
- our articulation improved from the last band practice

what was lacking + way(s) to improve:
- a lot of squeaking (get more used to the reed, dunk the reed in water to soften it)
- holding notes for too long/ short (read the score properly and clarify with others if unsure)
- kept tapping feet while playing (remind each other to keep feet on the floor when playing)

what went well:
- able to make amendments relatively fast most of the time
- able to play most of the notes on time
- we could change our notes together after today’s practice compared to last times practice
- could keep up with tempo better in this practice

what was lacking + way(s) to improve:
- tuning (bar 27 & 121) + clip on tuner and adjust tongue so that it's not too flat/sharp
- did not play correct dynamics when needed + take notes/write on score to remind urself of dynamics at certain places
- note changes could have been more synchronised (esp part E) + look at conductor
- the endings for the note at the end of the phrase could have been better + rmb to play the ending note to the full value so the phrase ends nicely
- articulation + rmb to play accent instead of normal/staccato

what went well:
- managed to finally allocate the double-playing issue
- crash dynamics for set piece sounds better than the previous practice

what was lacking/needs improvement:
- slowed down in set piece, MUST keep to the tempo
- switching between instruments needs to be faster if not may come late during the section
- volume played could be softer
- look up at the conductor for cues!
- crash should keep to the tempo-work on stamina
- timpani needs to stop all 4 drums at the same time (still needs practice)

what went well
- more focus on dynamics on articulation, I know where to work on & remind myself now (Florence)
- we responded to the feedback quick and applied it well during the practice like when ms lim told us to show her clarity and the crescendo (Shyamilli)
- I think my sounds was clearer and my notes were quite precise (Mandalynne)
- my lips weren't so tired so I could play my high notes and practice the articulation (Ramneek)

what was lacking + how to improve
- accuracy of high notes terrible, practice using mouthpiece alm everyday to try to catch up
- breathing quick and like keeping up sound quality i can figure out set places where to breathe so that i don’t miss notes bc i’m breathing
- my tonguing can be better and I can use more air to reach higher notes
- I need to practice on the mouthpiece more often so that I can build the stamina to play high notes longer

- Not able to reach high notes especially when nearing the end — practice more
- Not in tune with each other — tune together as a section during warm up
- Not enough stamina to last through the whole piece

our stamina was weak (practice playing through the whole song to build stamina)
we were not playing loud enough (try to use more air while playing)

Go to the band room earlier to practice

For section H, piccolo’s first C was too short

What went well:
- Section E solo was well done
- Improvement in Section D (correct slurring and tonguing)
- less wrong notes and came in on time

Things to improve on + how to improve
- Some notes can be played shorter (practice that part more)
- Euphonium instrument problems (try to resolve the issue before band/take care of instrument)
- E flat was a bit flat (try to push more air)
- distracted and didn’t know whether to play or not (pay attention to conductor more next time)

What went well:
- The tempo was more constant compared to the previous full band on the last run through

What to improve and how:
- For summer resounding, sometimes we will count wrongly and don’t play the running notes at bar 188 on time. Some cannot play that part very smoothly. That can be practise by practicing the fingerings more so that the notes can sound more even
- For Summer resounding, some notes are quite unclear and their is a tendency to be lost at the parts that we are unfamiliar with. This can be improved by reading through the score and get more familiar with it
- For summer resounding, piccolo tend to go too fast during the last 4 bars. She can improve by keeping the tempo and looking at the conductor when she play

- lesser squeaks
- better sense of tempo
- did not slow down as much as before esp for tanah ??
- looked at the conductor more often
- was able to keep up with the tempo and played more correct notes

what was lacking + way(s) to improve:
- not playing tgthr (sr! quaver beats) + look at eo scores and figure out how to play tgthr, follow conductor
- too loud at times + pay attention to dynamics written down
- need more coordinated note changes for sr i think + count properly, practice the parts within the section
- some wrong notes + ractise regularly to make sure u know what you’re playing)
-the notes in summer bar 239 couldn’t come out clearly (over the break) + practise the break exercise & that phrase
- airy notes when playing soft + practise playing in piano and tighten embouchure

- Sayli was finally able to do her solo properly
- articulations and dynamics were better
- came in at the right timings
- played less wrong notes

what was lacking + way(s) to improve:
- used reeds of wrong size (check whether reeds are ready before practice)
- tuning could be better
- still unable to play some notes smoothly (practice that set of notes continuously)
- sound very spitty (clear saliva in instrument once in a while)
- articulation and notes still unclear at some parts of summer resounding
- baritone saxophone could be louder and solo still unsure (practice solo more and clarify with others if unsure)

- crash sounds are more consistent
- articulation and dynamics were met
- transitions for doubling of instruments were better
things that cld b improved:
- triangle a bit off beat but managed to catch up in the end
- crash came a beat early at C for tanah (rmb to count!!! look out for cues)
- timpanis could be muted faster (need to get used to it…or could try using arms to mute the timpanis)
- snare hesitated some beats (just count and be more confident!! )

- The trombone crack on ff part (summer)
- Crescendo decrescendo on slurs in C (Tanah)

- Able to play correct articulation

- could kind of play scale in tanah

What was lacking + how to improve
- Kept coming in at the wrong pitch (practice with tuner more to remember the pitch of the note)
- need to work on dynamics (play loud and soft long notes, crescendo or decrescendo)
-still not sufficient stamina (practice more)

- need to be in sync (practice the part together until we are in sync)
- fingering issues (memorise the notes mot the fingerings for the score!!!!!)

- basically no squeaks!!
- notes were generally correct throughout practice
- mostly correct rhythms
- listened to others more, play in time with them.
- dynamics was good in the set piece i think
- receptive and could fix errors faster
- could count correctly and managed to continue playing even after making a mistake

what was lacking + way(s) to improve:
- tuning was bad + clip on tuner and be conscious of voicing etc
- play notes to full value + write down in score
- pay attention to ms lim more + do not always look at ur score rmb to look up too
- tonguing was not very good + practise by urself whenever free (eg waiting for public transport etc)
- got tired easily at the repeating bars of summer + practise the whole length of bars at a time with metronome
- take note of rhythm in summer resounding + practice and listen to those who have the same/similar part as you
- stamina wasn't very strong so the volume wasn't as good + save energy wisely & practice by holding long notes
- way too much saliva + try to lift the back of my tongue

- tambourine rolls for summer improved
what we need to improve on:
- changing instruments in time (can forgo a few bars before the change so that can come in in time)
- snare for summer need to go faster (dont slow down)
- look up at conductor!!!
- listen carefully and count during summer for entrances

- We are getting more familiar with our notes and rhythm

What can be improved and how to improve:
- The entrance of Tanah can be stronger and more grand, as of now it sounds a bit weak, we can need to practice more as a band
- Tuning at various places in Summer was unstable, we can spend some time perfecting it together
