I SEE student portfolios can mirror real-life scenarios. In my role as a professional, I am required to include certain elements in my Digital Journal Portfolio. Beyond that, however I can pick and choose the manner in which I share my accomplishments and growth. It is not a tool for my teacher/boss - it is a tool for me! I THINK there is power in choice for students. Deciding what to include (and why) in a portfolio is a personal choice and if students are given that freedom, they will learn to make reflective choices. I WONDER how PicCollage and similar tools can help to display collections??
