         <description><![CDATA[<p><span>1. &nbsp;Music Appreciation for children</span></p><br><p>2. &nbsp;KidsRead programme: reading @ NLB</p><p> - engaging reading skills and drama</p><p>- volunteers to teach children how to appreciate language and communication skills</p><p> - audience: children from low SES (socio-economic status)</p><p>NOTE:</p><ol><li><p>might need to have training to make the project our own so that there's a value adding component</p></li></ol><br><p>3. &nbsp;Integrating two different groups of society (at risk youth and underprivileged) for character building</p><p>NOTE:</p><ol><li><p>Don't want to embed power structures</p></li><li><p> The groups cannot be more dominant than each other</p></li></ol><br><p>4. &nbsp;Giving tuition to lower SES children</p><p>- 1-4 sessions, one-on-one basis</p><p>- To impart more knowledge to kids (needy kids from children's home)</p><br><p>5. Using our individual knowledge and talents to let them discover some aesthetic skills/ physical activities that they might have ( music, art, PE, language skills)</p><p>- Audience: needy students (children’s home)</p><p>- Or one focused skill: baking cupcakes to let them have a sense of fulfilment of making ‘nothing to making something’</p><p>- Takes ~2-3 hours to bake</p><p>NOTE: </p><p>Possible locations:</p><p>1. &nbsp;Home economics classroom</p><p>2. &nbsp;Shatec</p><p>3. &nbsp;Crest Secondary School (main students there are Normal Technical students hence they have specialised facilities)</p><p>4. NIE? </p><br><p>6. &nbsp;Organise events such as small fund-raising carnival</p><p>1. &nbsp;Can tie in with groups like YMCA or People’s Association to help them plan the carnival</p>]]></description>
