One of the main connections I could make is when he first came to his school Breacher prep and was nervous. I can connect to this because I have had to switch schools a lot and i know how it feels . This book connects to the real world in lots of ways, but one of the main ways that i know is how August's face deformation is a real thing. Then he meets one of his friends Summer. After that comes Halloween  And August causes a fight.  Then the story switches perspective to Augusts sister Via and talks about her life. After that The perspective changes to Summer Augusts friend and the story talks about Her friendship with August. Then The story changes perspective 3 more times, it changes to jack Augusts friend, and then to Justin Vias friend, then to Miranda Vias old friend. Then the story changes back to August and they go on the school trip.
