I changed the camera to shutter priority mode by switching the mode dial to S, which means Shutter Priority. Clicking the little on top of the dial allows you change the mode. When shutter speed changes from slower to faster, pictures capturing movement become more clear, because they capture a moment faster.
I would want to use shutter speed as priority when I want to capture movement. I would use shutter speed priority if I were at a sport. such as a football game, to capture a player running, or if I wanted a photo of a fast car as it was moving. The shutter priority can capture movements that the human eye can not normally see, such as a hummingbird's wings flapping.
