I found the students seemed to struggle with finding their own strengths and weaknesses within the writing and their peer assessments were shallow at best. Student ownership of their own work is KEY. Giving more immediate feedback helps them understand their mistakes before they continue on with their learning and reflecting on their mistakes is how we learn!

I like the idea, but students really need lots of guidance and modeling to use it effectively.
