Date: September 1, 1939 - October 6, 1939

Involved: Germany(Adolf Hitler, General Franz Halder, and Walter von Brauchitsch) and Poland(Ignacy Mościcki and Felicjan Sławoj Składkowski)

Overview: Germany circled and attacked Poland from all sides by water, air, and land. It was an unfair fight because Germany had a much bigger army of men and more weapons. It's estimated that 66,000 people were killed, 133,700 were injured, and 694,000 were captured. Germany's reason for this invasion was claiming that Poles were persecuting Germany's people and that they were planning to invade Germany. These ended up being false reports created by Germany. Poland surrendered, Germany and the Soviet Union split control over Poland, marking the beginning of WW2.

Source: https://www.nationalww2museum.org/war/articles/invasion-poland-september-1939

They got word they would be sent to a "labor camp", but they didn't believe this, so, Anne's dad built a secret hideout. During this time, Anne wrote in a diary, sharing stories of her life. She was later discovered in her hideout and transported to concentration camps, where she was forced into harsh conditions. She died at the age of 16 but, fortunately her legacy lives on representing a piece of history.

Source: https://www.annefrank.org/en/anne-frank/who-was-anne-frank/

Although outside the military they were banned from speaking their own language . these troops lead an attack on German without them knowing . Which is great because German was a good code breaker but they couldn´t break their code. during this time the Navajo develop 600 terms for america language this threw their enemy off because they couldn´t figure out their plan made attacks easier with that communication . https://www.history.com/articles/world-war-is-native-american-code-talkers

Date: 1941

Involved: The UK and Germany

Overview: The top-secret British Special Operations Executive (SOE) created a new way to send bombs to Germany. They took 100 dead rats each shipment that were stuffed with explosives to agents in Germany that would plant them near boiler factories and trains. The hope was that Germany's workers would toss the rats into the boilers to make them explode. This plan was incredibly stupid, because nobody is picking up a dead rat so, it failed.

Source: https://www.history.com/articles/weird-weapons-world-war-ii
