For 1b These are not specific.

The methodology for working with partners that is mentioned isn't clear.

This is not accessible language and is vague. The statements made are broad and difficult to navigate.

How will UKRI learn from other funders and feed in their strategies and action plans to work together?

For almost any question the semantics are opaque and statements meaningless. There isn't much concrete to any of it. For Good Practice Exchange, what are the actually going to do?

RT: NERC has a peer review college (not all councils do) and UKRI will be looking at how we roll out training for peer review college in future.

How could RKEO feedback to UKRI on how and what that training might look like for peer review college and how it might be delivered most effectively.

BBSRC perspective don't have a peer review college and so pool for reviewers is entirely open. Need to strengthen guidance around external peer review, not just around impact but, with “responsive mode” in mind, non-standard applications are not disadvantaged; also looking at producing some online resources as guidance for applicants as well to demystify processes we have

An example of a concrete action is to implement anonymised applications for funding to be implemented.
One option might be a three phased system where funding bids go in totally anonymised:
1) EOI / triage - totally anonymous ranking of proposals
2) Peer review the application based on - ranking expertise of the groups - still anonymous
3) Full application format as an anonymised format.

Could this be based on the ERC model which is anonymous at early stage?

Being really rigorous about who sits on the peer review panels - what is the representation and diversity and inclusion looking like on these panels?

Evaluating through systems that reduce bias.
