The app flourishes in inspiration of any topic from food and health to the fashion in Sweden or even home design ideas. Having the opportunity to save and create visual boards of your favourite pictures and to be able to look back at them at any moment. 

Pocket is also a web service and app that enables us to save the most intriguing articles and to look deeper into the publisher and other publications they may have. Stories and podcasts are from all over the world and include a numerous amount of topics from confidence boosting techniques to what actually happens when you return items of clothing. 

Both these apps are extremely unique in their own way. Pinterest has less reading involved and rarely has links to articles. It is a way of visually describing you like in a simplistic style. It is an easy to use app that requires little previous knowledge only your true interests. Pocket on the other hand lets you explore academically and expand the knowledge you already have by constantly reading. In comparison to Pinterest it automatically saves your content into images, videos and articles instantly. With Pinterest they give you the freedom to organise your content however you like. 

The one major similarity that both these apps have is the feature of saving or pining something you like for later. Both applications give you the opportunity to build up a collection of content so you can come back to it later. As well as this both applications allow you to follow your favourite publishers of photos or articles so you can read what you like making it very accessible.

The Hockey clubs are represented as red with a stick symbol and each location point has an address, image of club logo and some locations have video footage of game highlights e.g Old Alex, Milltown. 

Also Linked is Cricket Clubs of Ireland. It was interesting to see the locations of these clubs and if they were on the same grounds as hockey pitches. They are symbolised with a colourful location tag.

I first created an account with my email and had to answer some personal questions such as my age, gender and language. I them was asked to select was I was interested in to make my Pinterest feed unique and suitable for me. I selected multiple topics from sport and recreation to hair tutorials and fashion. I was then free to start browsing and begin my Pinterest journey. 

Pinterest for me offered so much creativity as I was able to organise my favourite images into boards and also follow my most liked Pinners. I have learnt so many more skills while using this app such following and communicating with people, repining which taking somebody else photo from their boards and posting it to one of your own.  I was able to use my own images and upload the to one of my boards E.g Fashion Board.

This is my personal Pocket account which I set up using my UCD google account. I followed step by step how to use and organise content from the YouTube videos linked to this 'DigiLife' module. This application was simple to set up and enabled me to discover and connect with friends. 

I saved articles that I wanted to read or read at a later point and it also gave me the option to recommend, send to a friend and favourite. The articles with a click of a save button were saved to my homepage where overtime I had an accumulation of information to read. The discovery page also allowed me to read more articles from my liked publisher and see what else they had to offer.

What I found so interesting while using this app was the option to follow people which made me feel much more connected being able to see what my friends are reading. This digital pin board was a new and innovative application for me that has expanded my digital skills for the future. 

The sign up process was extremely easy and I used my UCD information to create my very first dashboard.  I was able to enjoy the process of this assignment as I could chose colours, backgrounds and pictures to suit me. The layout of Padlet and its customisation tools were very useful as it was easy to input links, photos, and videos with the click of a button. 



This site allowed for so much freedom and creativity and really showcases my likes and talents. The mapping of information will be extremely useful for group projects and future presentations where I need all my information in one place. I had a few technical difficulties with this application as I could not get the software to download onto my Mac. But with the help of a step by step YouTube video I was able to resolve the problem. 

Instantly I was able to screen record and use my own narration while recording. It allowed me to adjust my screen to make sure I got the perfect angles for what I wanted to record. I was able to review my work and stop and start to make sure I was happy with my work.

Explaining what was hard or easy, what I would do differently if I had the chance and how I would use the tools in the future are all reflections I wrote about in my piece.

I submitted my reflection to Peer Scholar in the 'Create' section and then I was able to Assess another students work in the same module. I really enjoyed this part as every student take the question from a different perspective. I gave Constructive feedback to my peer and they received high star ratings as it was an extremely well written piece. 

I then was able to go back to my own work and reflect on it in comparison to the Peer I had just reviewed. This was the most exciting exercise of my DigiLife experience and I was most looking forward to creating my own account. It has always been on my To Do List to create a Profile and E- Portfolio 2 allowed me to set it up the correct way.

I followed the YouTube videos provided in brightspace and started to create my account without any problems. I was asked for a few personal details and then was able to start editing my account. What I  loved about setting my profile was the help and advice I was getting off the application itself. Linked in were constantly guided me to additional resources to make my account better. E.g adding skills and previous job experience to my profile. As I first time user of linked in I was so impressed on how efficient the app was and I truly believe it was trying to present myself online in the best way possible.

It took around 20 minutes to set up my account and to log my previous work, school, and skills. I included one details such as time period of work and how I found the job. I then was able to connect with friends with the click of a button. I could see what college course they were doing and all of their pervious work placements which I found very interesting. It gave me ideas and motivation to keep expanding my own profile and building it up as I go on in life as having lots of work experience and skills is very attractive for future employers.

I also love the messaging feature on LinkedIn so I can congratulate my friends on new jobs and careers privately in chat or publicly on their page. This exercise will be beneficial for me in the short term and long term with careers opportunities and group projects. I can't wait to expand my profile and develop it over the coming years.

The application is used for this infographic was Piktochart. It was a simplistic and creative way to produce my personal strategy and allowed me to think outside the box when it came to presentation.

I followed the provided YouTube videos and created a free account where I was given template options such as posters, reports and flyers but for this assignment I picked infographic. Piktochart provided me with numerous infographic templates to suit my needs. I knew for my personal strategy I would need 10 sections to display my information so I typed in numbers in the search bar which was an incredible application feature to be able to define my search.

I picked my set template and was able to edit it to suit my theme . I was able to include icons such as computers and other online icons to help add to the visual aid of the infographic. I made sure to keep my sentences short and sweet when it came to headings of my personal digital strategy as I did not want to have information overload at first sight. I included bullet points under each of my strategies to add extra information without overcrowding the display.

Overall it was an exciting experience to use Piktochart which I had never used before. I will definitely be using it in the future for project work as I think it saves an immense amount of time when trying to create a perfect display.

After reading Andersons (2017) piece on Privacy policties with pining from parents and kids I thought it would be quite easy to re create my own privacy policy. This was definitely not the case. I found this the hardest excursive out of both Portfolios and really struggled to comprehend the assignment question. 

My chosen media tool was snapchat because out of all the applications I use it would be the most important in my media world. Throughout my reinventing journey I had to keep the 5 rights in mind which was a great guide to have as headings.
