2.I am the co-founder of Asian Ink, a multimedia artist, poet, and 3rd year art student at the University of Illinois at Chicago.

I am a co-founder of Asian Ink! I grew up in Oak Park, Illinois for the first 10 years of my life, then Glenview, Illinois for the next 10 years. Now, I am in the Pilsen neighborhood in Chicago! I just graduated from the University of Illinois of Chicago with a Bachelor of Design in Graphic Design. We'll see what's next for me!

My creative mediums are graphic design, fine art (drawing and painting), and creative writing.

In the future, I hope to learn more about how I can use my love for art and design to help underserved communities.

2. Hi! My name is Annie Lee and I am a Taiwanese American from Darien, Illinois. I am a third year student getting my BFA in Graphic Design at DePaul University.

I currently work at DePaul's Office of Student Involvement and their Office of Student Affairs as their graphic designer. I also do some freelance work for companies such as Now&Later and Adidas through my job with Published Studios!

3. I am a graphic designer, but I started off painting and drawing and will always turn to those mediums as a form of expression and release.

4. I know that I will always have a lot of room to learn and grow, so I'm excited to meet everyone in the program and learn as much as I can from everyone. I hope to expand my network, get involved in cool orgs and events, and overall foster friendships and cool projects with awesome people :)

Bio: Hey everyone! I am a rising junior at UIC majoring in English and minoring in Global Asian studies. My life has been nomadic as I was born in the West coast but spent most of my childhood in the East. I also lived abroad in my parents' home country, Korea, throughout my middle school and high school years. I moved from the Philly suburbs about two years ago and so I still consider myself new to the Chicago area (yes, please lmk where all the cool places are!)

Creative medium: Poetry, short stories/essays, digital & film photography, music (acoustic guitar), and most recently watercolor

Hopes: Having read others' mediums, I am super eager to try out pottery, videography, spoken-word poetry, as well as songwriting and screenwriting. Besides improving my personal artistic skills, I am seeking out different ways to contribute to my community and help empower fellow Asian Americans pursue the arts. I look forward to connecting with everyone!

2. Hi everyone! I'm a 3rd year at DePaul majoring in Communications and Media. I'm from Oak Park, IL but will be moving to Chicago next month. Most of my creative work has been in the realms of traditional painting/drawing, digital illustration, and photography, but I am interested in other things as well.

Hi all! I'm from Chicago, born and raised, and have been a community organizer here for a few years now. I currently am taking a year off from school in LA as a compsci major, but I'm really excited to get (re)connected with art!
I play guitar & dance both as hobbies, but want to get more into both of those as well as branch out a little - I'd love to learn how to make videos, really start composing music, and possibly explore more performing arts like acting.

Hi! I am a Chicago-based multidisciplinary artist and poet originally from New Delhi, India. I recently graduated from SAIC with a BFA, and work mostly in the mediums of fiber art and printmaking. Most of my work deals with the idea of home and the complicated relationships that exist in domestic spaces. I use repurposed textiles and paper for most of my work.

Hello everyone, Hope you are enjoying summer vacation. It's been hot outside, felt so good to finally get summer. By not taking too much time, I would like to give some information about my self. I am in JUNIOR year at UIC, with major of CS. I am transferring student from Harper Community College. I am native Indian, been in USA since 2018. I am a queer filipina born and raised on O’ahu, Hawai’i and am currently a college student at DePaul University in Chicago, Illinois. I first performed spoken word in February 2020 at Luya Poetry and since then, have incorporated my writing in community organizing. I have presented my work in several online spaces as well as planned my own events and workshops geared towards the Filipino community. Writing is another creative outlet I use to express myself in addition to photography and music. Common themes involved in my work involve friendship, sexuality, family, and healing.

I hope to learn how to be more well-rounded and express myself using multiple forms of media. I also want to establish a stable network of people for my mentees to go to for feedback and encouragement to pursue new ideas.

2. So excited to work with everyone this summer! I proudly identify as an Asian American adoptee and as a member of the LGBT+ community (panromantic demisexual). I'm about to begin my first year at Columbia College Chicago as a Graphic Design major after transferring from two years of undergrad at UIC. I am hoping to take my two years of Gender Studies and Global Asian Studies and transform what I learned into art and more.

3. So far I mostly just draw on paper and experiment with inking with pens or colored pencil, but I'm excited to explore more digital means of creation. It would also be neat to find a consistent art style :,) I danced ballet for 12 years and have played violin since 6th grade!

4. I hope to expand on digital creation skills and dive deeper into photography, but most importantly how to relate to a community of fellow artists. I am at a big transition point in my life where I'm taking a chance by pursuing art, so I'm hoping to ground myself and grow this summer amongst this caring community.
