My second item is a tool because a tool is tough and strong and Thomas is very tough because he is willing to get hurt and torture to live a better life with his little sister than what he is now



My third item is a banana because a banana is determined to grow an Thomas is determined to be free and not be owned by someone anymore


My fourth item is a dog because a dog is loyal to their owners because the owners feed them and give it a home and also they say a dog is a mans company. and thomas is loyal to his sister Because when Birdie got caught by a group of rebel soldiers Thomas ran after her and gave him self to the men so he can make her feel safer



My fifth item is knife because a knife is used to protect you or someone else and Thomas is really protective over his little sister Birdie




Thomas and Birdie ran away from the people that give runaway slaves back to there owners. Then they met a group of soldiers and they all became best friends. But they had to go to war in Fredericksburg but Thomas and Birdie were able to go with them. Then after the battle they could not find Birdie then Thomas saw Birdie with a group of ten rebel soldiers. Then Thomas ran after them and gave himself to the men so he can comfort his sister. After that the Soldiers they became friends with found them and made them give back Birdie and Thomas and the rebel lost the battle so slavery is illegal.

This story is about a sled dog looking for a home. He didn't have a home, only a mean owner. So this dog named Murphy escaped and sadly couldn't help the other dogs so he ran as fast as he could before dawn approached. Then eventually Murphy had reached a beach but no one was very nice to him so he had to spend a couple of days without eating. Then, he found an open can of beans that got him through the night. In the prairies a tribe of native americans live  on the side of a river. A group of settlers were on the other side, a girl from the the tribe swam across the river and saw the settlers wagons and told her father so they wents the help the settlers across the river
