He had two brothers that had unfortunately passed from tuberculosis. Now, onward with his life, he created the first telephone company in 1877 but his first phone call was in 1876. He didn't stop there, though, since he the started to have interests in machines that go in the air. Unfortunately, Alexander passed away in 1922.

Rockefeller was born in Richford, New York, in 1839. Rockefeller wasn't afraid of getting his hands dirty and did some hard work and soon landed himself a good job by 16. But later on, when he was twenty, he wanted to venture out and do more, which caused him to think of starting up an oil company since he believed that it was a smart business move. In 1870, he launched The Standard Oil Company which was a huge success and soon started to buy out other oil companies. Not all good things lat forever, though, since Rockefeller had passed away in 1937.

He had lived in farms, in New York and Vermont and had a job working in a hotel. Soon after working in a hotel, he became an agent for the Boston and Albany Railroad. In 1858, he had began drilling his first oil well and then drilled two more, for the Seneca company that weren't as successful as his first oil well. In 1880, Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, Edwin had passed away.

He actually was an apprentice as a printer, which was basically where someone would arrange little letter stamps in a frame and the cover them in ink before turning a crank so that it stamps onto the paper. Later on, Sholes and two other inventors went on to create the typewriter and four years later, they received a patent for their typewriter. The typewriter was priced at a whopping $125 (about $2,500 today!). He also invented the QWERTY keyboard.

At first, John was an apprentice for a blacksmith at the age of 17 and four years later, he had his first trade. One of John's inventions that had him 'hooked' to the idea of making it easier to plow through thicker and more heavy based soils was a plow. Through John's life, he would go on to sell many plows that are designed for more diverse types of soil and made plowing more easy. John ended up passing away in his home, in 1886.
