Week 3: Journal - SONGS FOR ADVERTISEMENT:

I will need to create a "sound for my brand" (Argo 2018, p.97), I will do this by having a little tune at the end of my promo video when the 'Moneopole' branding appears at the end. This will make sure that viewer will link the sound with the brand, as it can "cognitively affect product evaluations" (Argo 2018, p.97). The other music I will use in the promo video will be used to create emotion from the audience and allow them to understand how the character feels.

SONGS FOR ADVERTISEMENT:

1. (Playing Monopoly) at beginning: Happy, peaceful sounding song - to create a family friendly looking set up, so the audience feels calm.
2. (When one of the actors gets angry and flips the Monopoly board:
Dubstep, aggressive sounding song - to really show the audience the anger and frustration in the actor.
3. When they come back and play 'Moneopole' - the same happy and upbeat song that was playing in the beginning - to show that the angry actor was happy to come back and play the game, and that it calmed them down again.
4. Have a little tune at the end that will be the 'brands sound' (Argo 2018, p.97).

Week 2: Journal - MIND MAP

This mind map was created to develop ideas based around my promotional video for the board game 'Moneopole.' Creating this mind map helped me think about my idea on a deeper level, with questions such as, "who the advertisement would be targeted to", "when would you play the game" and "why could Monopoly ruin friendships". These questions will help create the approach that I work towards in my final product. The target audience that this advertisement will be created to appeal to is children, young adults, families, even elderly . You would play the game at a friends house, so that is where I will base the video. Finally Monopoly could ruin friendships if "player 3, lands on player 1's property and does not notice, but player 2 tells player 1" - (found in the Mind map). So I will use these ideas in my promotion.

Week 4: Journal - THINKING DIFFERENTLY:

In week 4's we had to complete an activity about creative problem solving. We had to ask questions of how we could think differently about the message we want to promote as, "effective advertising persuades the audience" (Usman 2018, p.77). I will persuade the audience through the meaning, context, learning, humor, solution and points of view.
> Meaning - That friendships are hard to find so do not ruin them by playing a board game that can destroy that friendship.

THINKING DIFFERENTLY:
> Context - this advertisement could be useful, as it could save friendships.
> Learning - Monopoly ruins friendships
> Humor - The humor in this ad, will be the fact that most people have played Monopoly before and will understand the exaggeration, of the frustration the game causes.
> Solution - Do not play Monopoly, go and play 'Moneopole,' as the game is just like Monopoly only in the end you still have friends
> Points Of View - For the point of view of the audience, they will be able to think about how Monopoly is a very relationship damaging game - even though the promo video I create will over exaggerate, it will still have a sense of truth. So the audience would want to buy my game.

Audience:
The audience I will try and appeal to is children, young adults, families, board games, like 'Moneopole' can be played by anyone. All genders, all ages and status is not a factor, as long as you can buy the board game. I will capture there attention by using humor and music.

Tone:

The tone at the beginning when the people are playing Monopoly will be happy and peaceful, they will be sitting in the bedroom on the ground. As a casual setting adds a relaxed vibe. Then one of the actors will get angry because, player 3, lands on player 1's property and does not notice, but player 2 tells player 1. Player 1 then asks for the money the owe and player 3 gets angry and flips the Monopoly board. Then the tone will become aggressive, everything will change to being in slow motion and flick back and forth, creating a dubstep look and feel. Then player 3 will walk out and slam the door shut behind them, leaving player 1 and 2 in shock. They then call player 3 back in to play 'Moneopole' and you see the player walk back into the room. It all goes back to having a calm and happy tone, to try and sell the product 'Moneopole' to the audience.

I want the audience to remember the ad, as in the beginning it's all normal and almost boring. Then, there is a sudden change in tone and the audience would want to keep watching, as I grabbed there attention and then in the end I want them to think about Monopoly not being that fun, as it does make people angry. Then they will want to go and buy the product I'm promoting, as it has a funny and memorable ad.

The colours I will use will be light and relaxing in the beginning, using neutral tones like nudes, white, cream and soft colours., to create a relaxed family friendly vibe. Then in the middle (the aggressive part), I will have less exposure, have strobe lighting and make it darker, to create a sense of anger and frustration. Then it will go back to the neutral tones, to show that 'Monopole' calms people, and is like Monopoly - just a bit better.

I will use bold, sans serif fonts in my promotional video to create a bold look, because that will better engage the audience.
