During the events of the Grenfell Tower incident, the commissioner of the London Fire service, Dany Cotton, took control of the situation brilliantly. She came up with the planning of what was going to be done and how they were going to do it.

She showed great attributes of a leader and because of her leadership, casualties from the fire was to a minimum. She showed great courage because of how she took control of the situation, especially since she wasn't the person who was meant to take command. She took command because she lived nearby and needed to make sure the firefighters had leadership. She also showed compassion because she made sure that the it was safe enough for the firefighters to enter before they did. She even ordered them to leave because of how drastic the situation was at times, however because she motivated the firefighters so much, they more or less ignored these commands because they knew they needed to help people and do their jobs. Due to the situation, she had to adapt constantly because their was a lot of obstacles the firefighters had to overcome, she had to change plans on the fly because certain entrances and stairways became too dangerous to pass through. This also showed her decisiveness as well. This is because she quickly made decisions and if she didn't make decisions as quick as she did, lives may have been lost.

She communicated orders very effectively because firefighters knew exactly what needed to be done and how they were going to do it. The whole situation was incredibly organised and Dany had to do a lot of multi-tasking, switching focus from the fire, to search and rescue, to after care of the civilians. She was obviously a charismatic leader as she managed to motivate her team to run into a burning building and save countless lives. And due to her great planning, the firefighters saved countless lives.
