TreeFrog Therapeutics is one of those companies that makes you pause mid-scroll and go, “Wait, they’re doing what with stem cells?”

Their big idea is deceptively simple: take fragile, high-maintenance pluripotent stem cells, stick them in tiny alginate capsules, and gently swirl them in bioreactors. Voilà—massive expansion, better viability, and allegedly fewer angry cell deaths. It is like giving stem cells a spa day while tricking them into working overtime.

From a scientific standpoint, it is elegant. From an industrial one, it is a clever play on scalability—a word everyone in cell therapy likes to say, but few can make actually happen. TreeFrog thinks they can. And honestly, maybe they can. They are funded, fast-moving, and French, which never hurts in biotech PR.

Goliver Therapeutics is a regenerative medicine startup developing off-the-shelf, pluripotent stem cell-derived hepatocyte therapies for liver failure. Their lead product, GLTX-001, consists of cryopreserved hepatic progenitor cells that can be injected to support liver repair without a graft. Leveraging their iMillenium™ platform, they manufacture large-scale, GMP-ready cell batches, enabling immediate use at the patient’s bedside. Preclinical studies show potent paracrine-driven liver regeneration, and the GOCLINICALS program recently received regulatory support to transition GLTX-001 into first-in-human trials. Innovatively, Goliver merges scalable pluripotent stem cell biomanufacturing with bedside-ready liver therapeutics—offering a practical alternative to transplantation.
