A prodigy has to have some kin of genetic makeup or nature, that makes them special, Something is in their DNA that sets them apart from everyone else and it isn't always something learned from previous behaviors either. Now however the environment or nurture comes into effect when the child isn't stimulated enough to be able to expand their capabilities.
