As time passed, I lost fluency in speaking Portuguese, especially since I learned English, which has become my second language; that being said, I have kept my pride in belonging to that culture. It will always be important to me because it is my family's culture, and many of my beliefs and traditions come from it.

I found this hobby at a moment in my life when I felt lost; it has improved me in many ways, especially in my English since it is my second language; this personal identity has made me connect with more people and, more importantly, know myself more and feel excitement towards something.

I love going to libraries and buying new books; even If I have 15 in my TBR, the feeling of purchasing a new book is like no other..

I started my healthcare path almost a year ago; I am a CNA in the mother/baby department, and, yes, the job takes a lot from you physically and mentally, but when I am in the hospital, I feel that I belong and I am simply happy. Having the opportunity to make a difference in someone's life, be the support when needed, or the mom change her clothes or walk to the bathroom is a reward to me.

Every thank you and smile from the parents makes it worth every hour I spend in the hospital. My goal is to become a nurse, ultimately a nurse practitioner, and continue in the field that I have always dreamed of.
