We can thank the Greeks for that government. They had the idea to create a system called democracy. Without a democracy, there would not be any order or discipline in the country. They also came up with juries, stipends, ostracism, and agora. Juries were created to determine the fate of others when a crime was committed. Stipends are used to pay people after they serve a civil service. Ostracism was used to kick people out of the country when needed. Agoras were used as meeting places. When lots of people sat a heard the trial and at the end saying guilty or not guilty. Also you voted for who you want to be your leader. The most important acheivement was democracy. Democracy was most meaning because it gave people rules to abide to and gave them neccesary rules. In direct democracy there is a jury to make or break a guilty person or innocent person, stipened also gave a sum of money to people who contributed to the government. Next is it gave the greeks discilpine in what to do and not to do. Lastly they had a meeting place for big decison in the Greeks society.This is a hall of fame important person named Perikles made it easier for artist and philosphers to work in freedom. This helps in our lives today because if there was no democracy then there would most likely to be none today. I feel that writing of history is the most important contribution because, without writing of history then we wouldn't know what had happened in the past. we wouldn't have known philosophers, or who had created democracy systems. Herodotus was the first ancient philosopher to come up with the idea of writing down what had happened in the past, so that people in the future could know what had happened. One of the many things they have created was the study of science and math, which has been adopted into societies from around the world. Founded by Euclid, Hippokrates, and Pythagoras, it was used for some of their greatest achievements, such as architecture and other arts. Another reason for it's importance is it's relevance to how civilizations like ours function today. For example, math is used often in construction or counting money. The one contribution that I find the most important is history. I feel that if we didn't have greek history we would lack many things that we have today. Some examples are, a good education on greek history. Museums and many masterpieces like greek statues. Knowledge on Thucydides and other greek people. We also wouldn't  be able to set standards for the future.
