The 8th amendment protects us from unfair and cruel punishments, and if it were take away it would be very unmoral and costs the state/country much more money. 

An example of the 9th amendment could be a $100,000 bail and 10 years in jail for running a red light. 

This amendment should be protected because even though running a red is a bad thing to do, a $100,000 bail and 10 years in jail is excessive and unnecessary. The 5th amendment protects us from unconsciously giving out information that could be deemed as criminal activity. 

For example if a person is being interviewed by the police and is told "You can say whatever you please and it won't be used against you!" and the person believes it then confesses and proceeds to get sent to prison, then that is considered a violation of the 5th.

In this article, it debates how technology could lead to a stronger protective strategy to the 4th amendment. Andrew Cohen, the author, mentions  his conversation with Orin Kerr, a UC Berkeley Professor.
