Why? What? The closing statement is made up off the argue of the layer, indeed he chose to rest the main arguments and evidences that could help the case in order to give an advantage to his or her client and be more persuasive to the judge. 

What do you say/should not? You just have to give to the judge the main arguments not all the details because they aren’t all beneficial for the final judgment.  You have to come back on evidences, parts of testimonies that in your opinion are in favor of your client, in order to swing the judgment of the judge and the jury in your way.
