We do a weekly shout-out for a job well done — whether it's a project or a specific task. It feels great to be acknowledged. This has definitely improved my team's morale, I think!

Our leader offered us optional time with a counsellor when the pandemic hit and we were all feeling really uncertain - I took her up on it and it was so helpful. Appreciate that she had our backs.

Cultural Change

My leader recognized that people in our area were not always treating each other well, and supported us as we tried to change the culture.

At the beginning of every team meeting, our leader encourages our team to share one positive experience and something we are struggling with. It helps celebrate small wins while also creating space for support.

Flexibility

While the work I do is mostly in-person and I attend to SAIT 99% of the time, I have appreciated by supervisor being flexible when I need to work from home due to a family matter. It shows that they care and appreciate me as a person outside of my role as an employee.

Raising Awareness

Since the introduction of training and education related to sexual and gender-based violence, I have been impressed by the number of Schools / departments / teams who proactively reached out to bring in training for their team so that they can better support their employees and students.
