Eliezer meets Moshe the beadle

At this point of this chapter everyone liked Moshe the Beadle and his presence never bothered no one.

Eilezer and his family get put in a train for deportation

"there's eighty of you ...if anyone goes missing ,you will be shot ,like dogs"

At this point in the chapter,Eliezer and his family were put into a train for deportation and there were loaded like animals and they were so many that their wasn't enough space so they had to take turns sit down and they would only give a little food for so many people and people would die.

Eilezer and his family get separated

" My hand tightened its grip on my father .All I could think was not to lose him.Not to remain alone"

At this point in the chapter ,His family was separated his mom and sister went to the right and him and his father went to the left.Also a guy told them to lie about there age and the guy said that the father was not fifty and that he was forty and for the kid he said that he's not fifteen and that he was eighteen.

Eilezer starts working for Idek

"Never shall I forget that night ,the first night in camp ,which had turned my life into one long night ,seven times cursed and seven times sealed.Never shall I forget that smoke"

At this point in the chapter , It was Eliezer first day in the camp and working for Idek and he saw how the teated Jews and he saw the smoke from the room where they would burn people alive and he would hear people screaming because they were buring them alive

Eliezer is losing hope in God

" I was the accused,God the accused .My eyes had opened and I was alone terribly alone in a world without God,without man.Without love or mercy.I was nothing but ashes now,but I felt myself strong to be stronger than this Almighty to whom my life had been bound for so long.

At this point in this chapter Eilzer wonders,angrily ,where God is and refuses to bless God's name because of all of the death and suffering that has happend in the camp.

Marching for 42 hours

''We were the masters of nature of the world.We had transcended everything --death,fatigue,our nature needs.We were stronger than cold and hunger,stronger than the guns and the desire to die,doomed and rootless,nothing but numbers,we were the only men on earth''

At this point of this chapter the prisoners are forced to march for 42 miles after evacuating Buna,one of the Nazi concentration camps.During the march they were treated very bad and who ever slowed down would be at risked to death.

lady throwing coins

'' When I notice two children desperately fighting in the water,one trying to strangle the other ,I implored the lady.'please ,don't throw any more coins!''

At this point of this chapter when Eilezer gets down from the train and see a lady throwing coins and he gets memories of when they would throw bread to them just to see them fight.So there for he told the lady to stop throwing coins.

Eliezer dad dies

At this point in the chapter Eliezer's father is becoming very weak and verbalizing that he is giving up.He doesn't want to get up,and Eilzer begs his father to eat something.

Eilzer goes back to the children block

''After my father's death, nothing could touch me anymore.''

At this point of this chapter Eliezer is moved to the chlidren's block after his father dies .And the Americans did want them to come back to liberate the camp.
