A fraction bar is a model of a fraction, like 1/6, it will be cut into 6 pieces and 1 will be shaded in. Now, the denominator is the bottom or right number in a fraction, such as the 6 in 1/6. The numerator is the top number or left number in a fraction, such as the 1 in 1/6. Equivalent fractions are fraction that have the same lengths yet not the same numbers. Such as 1/3 and 2/6
