After they sacrificed the daughter of the Culhua chief, war broke out and the Aztecs were escorted to the island surrounded by shallow water "Lake Texcoco". Eventually, they saw the Teotihuacans' feathered serpent god in the island and established a successful city there named "Tenochtitlan". Tenochtitlan eventually became one of the biggest cities in the world. They would "reclaim lands" and expanded them over 5 miles. In the center of Tenochtitlan, there was a plaza in which the Great Temple was located in. The Great Temple stood 150 feet tall. Their way of transportation was through canals.
