This would prevent spills and breakage. This would also allow waiters and waitresses to conduct their jobs in a more efficient manner. I began by adding the Setae and Spatulae which is found on the feet of Geckos to the fingers of the glove. This was on the palm only.

For my final adaptation, I chose to lengthen the gloves so that the waiters or waitresses could hold additional items. I added the Setae and Spatulae to the extra length. I also added an "On" and "Off" switch to mimic the Geckos ability to turn this adaptation on and off in the presence of predators. As a waiter or waitress, you would not want the gloves to always be "sticky."

The Gecko has many adaptations that are used as survival mechanisms. Geckos do not have eyelids which means they must use their tongues in order to keep their eyes moist. Geckos also have the adaptation of camouflage which they use to protect against predators. The Gecko comes in many dark colors which gives it the ability to blend into it's surroundings. Gecko's also have the ability to split their tails in different pieces when a predator attempts to catch them. The Gecko then has the ability to regenerate its' tail; however, it may not be as long as b Another primary adaptation of the Gecko is the presence of sticky toes. The Gecko's toes contain microscopic hairs called setae which then split off into smaller bristles called spatulae. When the hairs found on the toes of the Gecko (as pictured) below come into contact with trees, walls, etc. a physical bond forms known as the van der Waals force. This is the force that exists between molecules which comes from electrons orbiting around the nucleus of atoms. The electrons from the Gecko hair and the electrons from the object (tree, wall, etc.) interact together. This is known as an electromagnetic attraction. Geckos have the ability to turn their adaptaion on and off. This adaptation allows Geckos to quickly alternate directions in the event a predator appears. This adaptation does not work under water. There are many types of Geckos; however, they all share similar adaptations. The adapation of the Gekos "sticky feet" will be utilized in my design.

This organism has the adaptation of camouflage. This adaptation could help improve the military's use of camouflage in a way that would protect soldiers when in wooded areas. The Gecko's ability to regenerate it's tail could be used to determine how to regenerate the limbs of humans if lost, especially when individuals have returned from war with missing limbs. This organism could help humans by providing the adaptaion of "sticky feet" to make the lives of waiters and waitresses simpler. Waiters and Waitresses often drop bowls, glasses, plates, etc. while moving food and drinks in out of the kitchen. I have chosen to create gloves that contain the tiny hair known as Setae and Spatulae on Gecko's feet. These gloves would allow waiters and waitresses to hold onto all dinnerware without them ever hitting the ground. The feet of Gecko's are like an adhesive without being sticky as they use an electromagnetic force.

I have chosen to create what I call "Sticky Hands." The Sticky Hands I have created will contain the Gecko adaptation of "sticky feet" . I have chosed to utilize the characteristic of Setae and Satulae to create gloves that will adhere to objects touched. I believe these gloves will help to improve the efficiency waiters and waitresses. The gloves will allow waiters and waitresses to pick up multiple items at one time. This would ultimately prevent spills, the breaking of glass plates, bowls, cups, etc. Just as the Gecko has the ability to turn his sticky feet on and off, waiters and waitresses will also have this ability.

For my 3D model, I utilized a pair of rubber gloves, garland, a cutout of a palm pad, and a drawn circle labled as "On" and "Off." The garland is meant to represent the Setae and Spatulae (tiny hairs) found on the feet of Geckos, though if this were an official invention the hairs would be nearly microscopic. I used a piece of paper to draw and cut out a palm pad to add extra adhesive. I also drew a circle labeled as "On" and "Off" to represent the Geckos ability to turn the "sticky" on and off when in the presence of predators.
