They wanted more peace and freedom. Their American Dream was to find that better way to live and establish a new, fresh start. They no longer wanted to be in the horrible living situations that they were forced to be in. The Pilgrims simply wanted their unfortunate situations to be turned positive. Religion was shifting, and it was greatly valued. Intellectual discoveries were being made, and things began to be put into perspective more. The future seemed brighter. The American Dream was growing. Governments were forming, which caused growth, but it also brought reality. The reality was that everybody had different opinions.
