“Don’t make decisions when you’re angry. Don’t make promises when you’re happy.”
 
As the quote above, we have to think before we speak. Do not speak out all inside your head. It does not mean you have to bottle up your thought. You just need to think before you talk because you never know if your words will hurt others or not.
Today, 28th October 2018, I just saw a person talked without thinking. As a result, her words hurt everyone.
She just spit out all her thought without care about others feeling. She never knows her words will leave a deep scar inside someone’s heart. And she never knows the scar will lead to a scary thought.
Mental pain hurts more than physical pain.

This means that  the writer attributes human characteristics to an inanimate object, animal, or abstract idea. In ‘On the Pulse of Morning’, the Rock, the Tree, and the River are all personified. This is evident in the way the poem gives voice to their reminiscences about an earlier time of peace and harmony, and their invitation to human beings to bring back such a time in the present with their support and encouragement.

For example:
(i) stanza 3
"But today, the Rock cries out to us, clearly, forcefully,
Come, you may stand upon my
Back and face your distant destiny,
But seek no haven in my shadow."

This does not mean that the rock itself is crying to us literally, it is indirectly giving a vital message to humans to stop hiding and face destiny.

(ii) stanza 8
"Across the wall of the world,
A river sings a beautiful song,
It says come rest here by my side."

The writer is trying to potray the river as a person that is inviting unity and peace.

(iii) stanza 17 - 23
These stanzas are saying that the tree is personified as descendants of families from all humankinds that relates with nature.
