Now days food can be used for another reason rather than eat. Plastic causes many damages in our environment such as, air pollution that caused while it produces and deaths on sea animals. However, currently there are some companies who used food to act as a plastic for example, the bottle holder. In this report will show the positive and negative points of food based plastic with chart explanation.

Food based plastic has many advantages. Firs, Food based plastic made from plant such as corn which is mean that is a renewable resource. Second, food based plastic is a solution that will reduce the greenhouse gases that causes of using petrol to produce the normal plastic, also food based plastic need less energy to produce. Those are the main advantages of food based plastic.

However, food based plastic has several disadvantages. Fist, that food based plastic cannot be mixed with other plastic while it recycles. Second, which it has low melting point, because food-based plastic in the heat of a long time and this means it’s inappropriate to use. In addition, food based plastic involve specific conditions to breakdown. These are the disadvantage of the food based plastic.

The chart shows the sector that use food based plastic in 2013. Also the chart illustrate that packaging is the most use of food based plastic, and electronic is the less of using food based plastic. Packaging worth 66.5% use of food based plastic which is packaging is the most sector uses food based plastic, in the other side is electronic which is 3.5% only of using food based plastic.

In the end food based plastic has some advantages and disadvantages in the environment and other things. however most use of it is packaging and electronic is the less.

It can replace the petrol and diesel in our cars. Food-based fuels are made from plants such as corn and sugar, but it does have disadvantages that can affect the use of the food-based plastic. If the fuel is being left in the car on a sunny day then it will melt into pools of liquid that has a low melting point of 46 degrees Celsius.

However, it has advantages that can useful in the future. It is made from the renewable sources that are from the production of farmers, which as a result will show that it can continue indefinitely as production keeps going.

At past people used to use food just for eating and therapeutics, but now a day, scientists discovered that we can use food to provide power instead of using oil and gas. There are some petroleum industrials already changed to food, such as some packaging materials and mobile phone casing.

There are some benefits of using food instead of using petroleum products. First, renewable resource, so people can plant continuously and the production of the new material definitely will never stop, when the petroleum industrial is not renewable resource. Moreover, food based plastic is safer for the environment because its need little power compared with the real plastic, also it reduce the uses of greenhouse gases.

On the other hand, there are some disadvantages of using food based plastic. for example, the most issue is that their melting point, when the most type of the normal plastic have more than 204 degrees Celsius when the food based plastic turn into liquid if it has not placed in good room temperature. Farther more, the food based plastic cannot be used in a country that has high temperatures. What is more that food based plastic cannot be recycled with other materials when the normal plastic is easiest and saving money in the recycling process.

The previous graph illustrates the uses of food based plastic in 2013 by percentage. First its show that packaging got the most uses with 66.5%, then agriculture field used by 6.5%, also it shows that electronics used food based plastic with 3.5%. Moreover, textiles use 7.5% when the medical field used just 4%. Finally there are some other industrials uses 12% of food based plastic.

However, this case should not be passed without looking for new solution. There are several companies started using food based plastic already.

Our dependence on oil for the production of plastics is becoming less popular as we turn to food-based plastics. This type of plastic has several disadvantages, but a number of advantages too, as we can see from the given chart, in 2013, six major areas of industry used this new type of material. Food based plastic are formed from plants for instance corn and sugar, It shows it has become more popular over the few years, as we are going to discuss about the advantages and disadvantages of food based plastic. This chart illustrates the usage of food based plastics by sector 2013 shown in different colors of divisions , as it shows by the graph packaging 66.5% was used the most while electronics 3.5% was least used by food based plastics.Food based plastic has two advantages over petrol-based counterpart ,as they are renewable resources as fabrication of plants is occurring and they are preferable to environment ,as require less energy for production and are biodegradable. However on the other hand, it shows they have low melting point usually caused while keeping food on a sunny day which shows they are unsuitable to use and they need very specific conditions break under ,while recycling them you can’t mix them with other recycling plastics. To conclude with, food based plastic must not be terminated and should be continued as they are strong, heat resistant and easy to produce, as using oil and other fuels causes more greenhouse gases in the air and has solved many divisions while comparing to the chart.

One of these diseases it came from the plastic bag and threaten the wildlife. So, that senates discovered a new method to decrease the pollution by changing the oil industry with food manufacturing.

There are some of advantages of changing the oil industry with food manufacturing. One of the advantages is made from renewable resource. Therefore, the traditional work like farming will be start again. The second advantage is, that will be butter for the environment because it will reduce the uses of energy and decrease the greenhouse gases.

On the other hand, there are several disadvantages from using the food based plastic. For example the food have melting point and it can’t use in whole world because of the sun or the weather temperature. The food based plastics is not friendly with the environment and it is not strong like plastic it may broke down very fast. In the plastic recycling the industry mixed all of plastic but in the food based plastic cannot be recycled with other material.

This graph illustrates the percentage of uses of food based plastics in 2013.
