I see spelling tests used in all placements and I don’t think this supports the children

I saw a series of spelling rules lessons for turning words in to past tense and plural and so on. they were very step by step but pupils were just left confused as it was mostly worksheets and repetition no solid explanations

Spelling books over the weekend and then a spelling test the week after. It was good because if they put the effort in at home they’d do well
