Personal Experience:
While I was in school, I would sometimes skip the prewriting stage. When I was to skip this step, my writing would take more time than needed and I would not be as organized as I wanted it to be. When I applied this step to my writing, it helped to prepare me for the writing.

Observation:
During this stage, I have witnessed students show excitement about concocting ideas to write about and the type of story to create. Personal Experience:
Drafting is one of my favorite things to do while writing. My mind has so many thoughts - so, instead of overthinking everything, this stage helps me to make sense of the thoughts and bring them to the paper.

Observation:
I have witnessed students enjoy this stage as much as I do. Personal Experience:
Revising has always been difficult for me. When I write, I sometimes assume that what I write the first time is correct. The older I get, the more I understand how important revision is. To get the input of a classmate on what needs to be corrected, it helps better your writing.

Observation:
While I am sure some students are fond of this stage, I have witnessed the opposite. Personal Experience:
Editing is always a fun stage because it helps to pull your writing together entirely. You get to fix the mistakes you made in your draft and produce the greatest version of your words. Without all of the steps that lead to this one, the writing would not be where it needs to be.

Observation:
Most children I have worked with do have fun with the stage of editing. My intended audience was typically my teachers while in school. I would feel a sense of relief turning in my papers and excitement for my writing to be read. It is nice to see your hard work come together.
