         <description><![CDATA[<ul><li>The pH scale is a logarithmic and because of this, each whole pH value below 7 is ten times more acidic than the next higher value. </li></ul><blockquote style="margin-right: 0px;" dir="ltr"><p>Example: pH 4 is ten times more acidic than pH 5 and ten times more amore acidic than pH 6 ( 10 times 10)</p></blockquote><ul><li>The pH scale measures how acidic or basic a substance is. the pH scale ranges from 0 to 14.</li><li>A pH of 7 is neutral,&nbsp; a pH less&nbsp;than 7 is an <strong>acid</strong>, and a pH more than 7 is a <strong>base.</strong></li></ul><p><strong>Acid-&nbsp; A chemical substance that neutralizes alkalis, dissolves some metals and turns litmus paper red. Has a sour taste.</strong></p><p><em><strong>Base- A substance that is slippery, tastes bitter and changes litmus paper blue. It reacts with acids to form salt.</strong></em></p>]]></description>
