"Gray wolves were listed as endangered under the Endangered Species Act in 1974, paving the way for their reintroduction to Yellowstone National Park and central Idaho in 1995. Since their reintroduction, the question of the presence of wolves in the American West has been the subject of an ongoing battle, a tug-of-war of between science and politics."

The wolves are an endangered species and killing them is not doing anything and people are still killing making them an even more endangered species. I still think the population should not be controlled because you're just killing animals that didn't do anything, and have no reason to die. People are debating wither or not to keep lowing down the population and they're on the verge of deciding to not kill the wolves anymore.

Yes, we need animals because a lot of people rely on animals for food, fur, and some just beauty.
Lets talk about carrying capacity the environment can support bears and wolves as we learned today(2/13/18) So now do we have a purpose to keep wolves in Yellow Stone? The carrying capacity can only hold so many bears and so many wolves I think that the population of bears could probably be around 4-8 bears as we learned for the bear necessities(2/8/18) and the wolves population could probably be around 10-17 also learned from bear necessities (2/8/18) the reason bears are less than wolves is because wolves don't eat as much as bears do in this case.

We're still on the topic of should animals population be controlled? Some should and some shouldn't for example as we could see the Red Lionfish should however the wolves population should not.

In the power point we looked at today(2/13/18) we asked some questions to Yellow Stone Park and we found out that the wolves help the bears by what they don't eat the bears clean up after them and eat the rest of the animal that they didn't eat. As we all know about prey and predator population the prey is lowering because the bears and the wolves both eat them but they are saving some by bears eating after the wolves. There isn't any competition between the wolves and the bears they're either sharing or they aren't but they aren't fighting over food that we know of.

As the presentation from today(2/20/17) the animals that are dying from diseases are "predator recovery, hunters, droughts, and a disease called Brucellosis that now affects 30% of Elk in Yellowstone" "Bears, coyotes, ravens, bugs, and other wolves benefit from wolves being killed due to disease" also they are dying because of other animals population getting to big "Moose and Elk population grew and had to compete with the beavers for food so some of the beavers died off" The population of these animals are going down for different reasons such as diseases, being over populated by other animals. Animals are dying mostly because of diseases however we can't take them captive all we can do is catch them and vaccinate them and hope that they live or they can fight the disease.

The death of predators eating prey is better because they don’t die slowly and they might die and then get a disease then the predators would also get the disease and then the whole park would have a disease making all of the animals dangerous. One animal can determine a nature balance by making sure it has enough food to feed all of the animals and make sure it doesn’t have any diseases or bad predators that will affect them. The predators don’t just prey on the old and sick they normally prey in the slower or the younger mostly because they are slower. When we watched “She Wolf” she preyed on baby animal because it was slower then she got chase by the dad who was almost as fast as her. The balance of nature is the deer would do worse without the wolves then the wolves would not have eat the deer to keep the population controlled.
