We do have very flexible schedules, but I think SOAR is really good at adapting to new things that are thrown at us since things are always changing, even before at home learning.

Support from teachers to students is more difficult in an online environment.
Limited flexibility the first couple years at SOAR in regards to college class options. Even then you do have IGETC and AA.
Flexible depends on your major.
Is engineering an emphasis?
Automatic label of STEM school for every school in the area because of the industry but it's not a prominent feature at this site compared to other sites.
SOAR Prep was more of a STEM school than SOAR high school.
Emphasis on IGETC. Not STEM.
Self-advocacy is not a part of social maturity and is missing.
Does "social maturity" even need to be on here? Never told how to behave; it's inherent.

In our discussion, students felt that we have a rigorous science and math pathway and a variety of options for math and science as well as some options for students willing to seek out engineering opportunities, but not an emphasis that is given to all students in their classes. Students did not feel like it would be good to create a STEM emphasis in English and other humanities classes--they like the well-roundedness of our curriculum. They felt that it would be better to change the mission. We are suggesting that we say we have a "Rigorous math and science pathways."
