In episode 5 season 2 the serial killer that was on the lose called "The Black Hood." Called Betty and told her she had to dump her boyfriend, or he would kill another person. Which is the last thing Betty wants, but she doesn't wanna hurt Jughead either. Betty ends up making her choice and forces herself to break up with Jughead and as an end result she is upset and takes her anger out on her bestfriends Archie and Veronica.
I would say that Betty is probably fixated in the oral stage because of the habit she has of digging her nails into he skin.
