Athens was all about economy because they used something called the agora which is sorta like a huge farmers market but not the size of a Walmart or something like that and they used coins made out of all sorts of metals.

Sparta despised economy and trading with other city-states but they had iron bars to trade around their city-state and they used the power of an army to steal the citizens and thing from neighbors and they farmed with their amazing farmland for resources.

In Athens, they had a good education school so they learned more than fighting and voting, they learned how to do some of the things we do like math, reading, writing, science, etc. They were taught some military fighting, but not as harsh as Sparta.

Sparta had their education a school like either you're a fighter or you're dead. They gave kids at the age of 7 military training and almost never fed them, because of this they were encouraged to steal food without being caught. At the age of 18 you were an official citizen but you were still given training until you were 30 then you can live at home. Although you can only retire at the age of 60.

Treatment of Women and Slaves

In Athens, women were treated poorly and weren't educated but were taught household things until the daughters were forced to marry someone they cannot choose and they weren't called actual citizens. Slaves were farmers for the citizens and educators for children of Athens, but they were also forced to do things like be sorta a butler but without pay.

In Sparta, women were real citizens and could own property as well as choose who they marry, although they were real citizens, they still stayed at home after being educated. Slaves on the others hand were treated far more cruelly because they had to farm, teach, and many other things for the citizens of Sparta. Most of the slaves were citizens from a city-state Sparta stole from and they were called Helots, sometimes they would get too many slaves and they feared they would team up and erase Sparta's population so they tricked them into sending them their strongest slaves just to kill them right away
