While I do work on International Mindedness, I feel that there were some good suggestions given. The one that truly hit me was using international descriptions and measurements. If one wants to speak with someone from another country then the issue of miles vs. kilometres can hamper communication. I will be working on integrating this mindset into my lessons.

It was really great working more one on one on unit writing. I feel like it has helped me understand how to create the unit planners in a better more efficient way. Otis and Mary are unit writing rock stars!

I will be really working on developing my ToK questions for my units.
I am going to work on developing rubrics for more of my assessments and have the students use the rubrics to judge their own work.

I have been struggling to think of ways to bring service as action into the classroom. One takeaway for me is that there is more than one type of service learning that I can implement. While the most common would be direct service in which the students would provide a benefit to other individuals, I could also include other types like advocacy or research. I also loved the 17 sustainable Development all goals (SDGs) and I think that these will help me focus my service project(s) while pulling resources from these established global goals.

The most beneficial part was our department being able to discuss evaluation and assessments. This is important as we don't get a chance to do this much with the PE department. Thoughtful applications for Global contexts was good also.

I liked meeting with our specific areas and discussing techniques, different rubric ideas, different units ideas and figuring out how to incorporate them with the grade levels. We talked about how to build upon each other and how to get all moving in the same direction.

Because of this PD, I feel more competent at planning Service Projects for the class. I realize the importance of using the service projects to help the students engage with the world around them, and that I can tier the type of service projects we do, based on the student's willingness to apply themselves.

Reflecting on the how of learning. Why do we think the way we do. It was a good reminder, and for me to use.
